MSC Cruises made a public announcement on December 22, 2025, confirming that reservations have opened for its 2028 World Cruise. This expedition will span 115 nights aboard the recently refurbished MSC Magnifica, blending celebrated destinations with hidden gems across the globe.
An unparalleled journey across six continents
The cruise route begins in Mediterranean ports before extending to the Caribbean. From there, it crosses the Pacific, then proceeds to Australasia, Asia, and the Arabian Peninsula, before concluding in Europe. This carefully curated path highlights a variety of cultural experiences and natural wonders.
Unconventional destinations join the itinerary
Among the newly added stops, Nuku’alofa in Tonga stands out for its Polynesian heritage and secluded beaches. The ship will also make a call at Manta, Ecuador, where visitors can explore the region’s maritime history and the famous Montecristi hat workshops.
South America features two standout destinations: Arica, known as Chile’s “City of Eternal Spring,” and Callao, Peru’s historic port city, famous for its busy plazas and exceptional cuisine. In Asia, Chan May, Vietnam, serves as a gateway to the imperial legacy of Hue and the scenic Hai Van Pass.
The itinerary also includes Sihanoukville, Cambodia, where guests can relax on beaches and arrange visits to Angkor Wat. Grand Turk Island in the Turks & Caicos offers coral reef snorkeling opportunities, while Hanga Roa on Easter Island provides access to volcanic environments and the iconic Moai statues. The final South American stop, Puerto LimĂłn, Costa Rica, serves as a gateway to rainforest canals and diverse wildlife.
The voyage will feature a passage through the Panama Canal, allowing passengers to witness the engineering feat while handling between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans amid lush surroundings.

The MSC Magnifica includes the MSC Yacht Club, a self-contained luxury experience with private suites featuring balconies, a dedicated lounge, restaurant, and pool deck.
